Dave del Canho has been SVP Corporate Strategy and Business Development at KLM from 1999 until early 2008, reporting to the CEO. Initially he was involved in the strategic assessments of KLM and the merger discussions with British Airways and Air France. After the closure of the merger with Air France in 2004 he participated in the Air France-KLM Strategic Management Committee as secretary and post-merger implementation manager. Next to that he was vice-chairman of the three KLM pension funds. Prior to working for KLM, Dave worked as consultant and engagement manager for McKinsey & Company in Amsterdam and Asia, and before that he held several (management) positions with Royal Dutch Shell. Directly after completing a masters degree (with honors) in business economics at the Erasmus University Rotterdam, Dave was an assistant professor and fulfilled his conscription as an officer in the Royal Dutch Navy. Dave is currently chairman of the Supervisory Board (SvB) of Transavia, vice chairman of the SvB of GVB (Public Transportation Amsterdam), and board member of the Zadelhoff Fund. Dave has also been (vice) chairman of the SvB of Martinair, member of the SvB of the OLVG Hospital, member of the visitation committee of a number of pension funds (a.o. of KLM) and visiting fellow Mergers & Acquisitions at Nyenrode Business University.

Joeri Engelfriet has been Director Strategy and M&A at KLM from 2002 until early 2008. Together with Dave he was intensively involved in the strategic assessments, the negotiations, and the implementation phase of the merger. He was also responsible for KLM (and Air France-KLM) strategy. Before 2002 he worked as consultant at McKinsey & Company, specifically in energy, financial services, telecommunication, and transport & logistics. Next to that he gave trainings, a.o. in game theory. Before McKinsey, Joeri worked as assistant professor at the Free University Amsterdam. He holds a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence and masters degrees (with honors) in Computer Science and in Mathematics. His research into complex reasoning processes, partly with colleagues from The Netherlands, Germany and the US, has yielded over 25 international publications. Joeri has been member of the Advisory Board of Infomedics Zorg B.V., non-executive board member at CDC Group, and visiting fellow at Nyenrode Business University. Currently he is Supervisory Board member at HappyNurse Thuiszorg and vice chairman of the Supervisory Board of a foundation for primary education.
